    This Donaldson AFB (SC)-based C-124A crashed during a precautionary landing at Tinker AFB, while on a cross-country trip to Travis AFB, CA.. One of 8 persons on board were killed in the crash. No emergency was declared, but the crew had reported a maintenance problem, and the airplane crashed on the south end of the north-south runway after the #4 engine failed and the pilot failed to correct for this during a go-around attempt.

The Electra was flying a charter for the Army when it crashed on approach to the Ardmore Municipal Airport (the former Ardmore AFB). Of the 93 passengers and five crew, only 15 passengers survived. It was determined the Captain (also the president of the airline) suffered a heart attack and slumped over the controls. The co-pilot didn't have time or altitude to recover the airplane before impact.

    A flight of four F-51s from the 185th Fighter Squadron of the Oklahoma Air National Guard was landing at Enid AFB (now Vance AFB) when the third aircraft dipped a wing and struck the ground. The pilot received only minor injuries.

    This airplane was damaged when it flipped over after running off the end of the runway during an aborted touch and go. The airplane was righted, repaired, and flew again.

    Five years after this accident, 51-3708 was involved in another mishap. The airplane was destroyed and both pilots killed.
