Boeing B-17B Flying Fortress 38-214 crashed 6 April 1942 near Tucson, AZ

The airplane suffered an inflight engine fire following a runaway propeller. Two crewmen were able to parachute to safety, but five men were lost in the crash. This crash is discussed in Trey Brant's book "Faded Contrails".

Two pieces of ceramic (or plastic...) that caught my attention. Possibly of the same part, but I haven't seen something like this before. Not sure where it came from.
