Could you please tell me the location of the crash site in relation to the ski area as I would be very interested in visiting it and taking some pictures. Thank you for your assistance: The Walla Walla based B24 was on a training mission one foggy night when the crew became lost. The plane was flying about eight hundred feet to low to clear the summit of Mission Ridge. None of the six member crew survived the impact. I have been unable to locate any information other than what I have learned from old news articles, and a small memorial at the ski area.
: I have visited the site, most everything heavy is still there, engines, landing gear, wings and fuselage. The was some fire as there is evidence of melted aluminum and the wings show some scorching. The engines are in incredable condition, considering they have been on the mountain for nearly sixty years.
: Can anyone tell me more about this plane?
