Just guessing here, but they had to come up with counter-rotating
props to solve the torque problem on the early P-38's, right? Maybe
Hamilton Standard couldnt get it right and the Curtis Electrics were a
perfect match.
I've heard the Electrics worked fabulous til it rained or was too
humid, then they could run away on you.
